The dog knight

Middle schooler Frankie Bryant has just come out as nonbinary, and though they've received support from their mother, they lost their best friend Dallas's friendship. During a bullying incident, Frankie saves a golden retriever from abuse, but in their retreat they trip and hit their head. Frankie wakes in the Omniversal Doghouse where a group of dog leaders known as the Pawtheon inform them that they've chosen Frankie to be their Dog Knight, a magical guardian that helps protect both humans and dogs from the evil influences of gremlins. If they accept the appointment, they will need to undergo a series of six trials to prove they possesses the six dog virtues of loyalty, kindness, honesty, justice, stubbornness, and smell.
