The year of the witching

author: Henderson, Alexis
Immanuelle Moore has lived her whole life in Bethel, a puritanical religious community controlled by the Prophet. Due to her mother's pregnancy by a man of another race, Immanuelle has lived her life on the edge of her community. But when she starts feeling a pull to the forbidden Darkwood where the first prophet killed four powerful witches, she soon discovers her mother's own connection to the woods through her journal. As she reads the journal, she learns of the dark side of the Church and its history, and Immanuelle must decide to embrace the darkness or save Bethel from destruction.
