Veronica, a girl in her junior year of high school, relates all the disasters that happened to her and in her life through her diary notes--like her horrible mother's return from Mexico, her father's girlfriend living in the house, and the fact that they are not even divorced yet. Then there is the whole sequence of events of losing her virginity, getting slut-shamed, then becoming popular again, then being thought of as a monster and now everyone hates her. She has to find a way to get her life back.
