Fifth-graders Zoe, Jaden, and Caleb and the rest of the Hubble Middle School S.M.A.R.T.S. club are participating in a Mars colony simulation sponsored by a private company, but when their equipment starts malfunctioning the kids suspect sabotage--and their chief suspect is Barrett and the rival Mad Scientists from the Edison Middle School.
