Emma, the daughter of a minister who has always believed God has a plan for her life, finds her faith shaken when she catches her husband in a compromising position with her assistant, and denied tenure in her position as an English professor because of the resulting scandal, she travels to London in pursuit of a cache of letters written by Jane Austen, and gains insights into her own life and future.
