Reed Brennan works to reestablish Billings as an underground literary society, but just before she can show the rest of Easton Academy the strength of the Billings Girls, Noelle disappears and it falls on Reed to find her friend before she is lost forever.

Noelle and Reed, having realized they are descendants of a coven of witches, worry Reed has recreated the witches' magic and about the consequences of the other Billings Girls discovering their heritage.
