After the Connect Three record went platinum, Shane's record company throws him a party at the camp, and while all the campers are excited, Mitchie is jealous when Faye, Shane's blonde former girlfriend, arrives at camp.

When big-time record producer Rex Riley visits Camp Rock, everyone, including Mitchie, wants the chance to impress him, but Shane discourages her because he blames Rex for ruining his relationship with his former best friend.

Mitchie worries that she is drifting away from her friends when they are placed in different groups in the camp's music-video making competition, and then she starts hanging out with a new camper named Colby.
