Ten-year-old wizard Negi Springfield graduates from his magic school in England and is assigned to teach English at an all-girl school in Japan, where he faces the challenge of dealing with his overly affectionate students without using his powers.

On the class trip to Kyoto and Nara, Negi must protect his student Konoka from being kidnapped by feuding magicians without letting her know that she is a target; and things get more complicated when he learns that his student Setsuna may be a spy for the kidnapping culprits.
