The Ice Princess's magic mirror is broken, one piece is missing, and without it the Enchanted Kingdom is locked in a terrible, unseasonable, heat wave (even the palace is melting); two children, Kara and Zed, are determined to help, but first they must figure out whether the break is the result of the sibling rivalry between the Ice Princess and her sister the Sun Princess--or did the monkey do it?.

Frustrated in his search for the lady who belongs to the glass slipper, Prince Patrick turns to Kara's father, the shoemaker, to ask who made the glass slippers; it can only have been a fairy godmother, but Kara is determined to help, and she enlists her friend Zed and his pet goat in the search--an adventure that could end up with the children thrown into the dungeon, because there is a conspiracy afoot, and the chief conspirator is in the heart of the palace.

Princess Rosa's palace has been under a sleeping spell for one hundred years, and the spell will end at sunset; but Princess Rosa sleepwalks and when Kara and Zed enter the palace they find that she is missing--and the two fairies, Miranda and her son Leon, that have been caring for the sleepers do not seem particularly anxious to find her before the spell resets for another hundred years.
