John Smith--who is Number Four--teams up with Number Six and learns more about the fate of his home planet, Lorien, after it was attacked by the Mogadorians, and tries to reconcile the stress of knowing that the fates of Lorien and Earth are tied to his success.

John--aka Number Four--continues his quest to find the rest of the Lorien Nine before the Mogadorians can, and, with time running out, Number Six goes off alone while John teams up with Number Nine.

Having barely escaped the Mogadorians after their last confrontation, the Six race to uncover more of their Legacies in order to increase their power and their potential for success.
